conditions treated
Many people seek acupuncture treatment for help with specific symptoms or conditions or to relieve specific pains. Some people turn to acupuncture
because they feel generally unwell but have no specific diagnosis. Others may choose acupuncture to enhance their feeling of wellbeing, maintain good
health, and as a preventative measure. It can be used in conjunction with conventional medicine.
The British Acupuncture Council (BAcC) has produced fact sheets on conditions treated in order to provide accurate and unbiased general information. A few of these are listed below, but since acupuncture is holistic and treats the whole person, this list is not exhaustive. They provide summaries of research and how acupuncture may be beneficial. You should always consult your GP if you have any concerns or talk to a BAcC registered acupuncturist.
